VOLUNTEER LOCALLY, GIVE GLOBALLY by volunteering at our New Windsor, Maryland, operations center, located on Rt. 31, just 7 short miles from Westminster:
We welcome adult and youth volunteers for all day or part of a day.
Work 6 hours to get a free lunch in dining hall.
Receive shopping discounts on our products and access to outlet items.
WORK INVOLVES:
- pricing, packing, and quality assurance of the producers’ products
- helping with mailings, and information disseminaton
- management and organization of discount sales area
- help with monthly overstock sales
Long Term Volunteers, staying for more than one month, receive free room & board, and are expected to help with a variety of tasks.
We are open 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday – Friday and Saturday by appointment.

Volunteers needed for REPAIR WORK of handcrafts. Sometimes our artisan partners’ product arrives in the warehouse damaged during the shipping process from our partners overseas to our warehouse, and sometimes a product arrives with quality problems because of issues in production.
Often, this product can be repaired at our warehouse in New Windsor so that it is first quality and can be sold to customers.
We are looking for volunteers that have experience in any of the below tasks, to help us fix artisan products:
- Finishing: sanding, buffing, painting, staining, varnishing
- Woodwork repair: using wood fillers and woodworking materials, cutting and remaking wooden or other types of frames, applying nails or screws
- Basket Repair: reshaping and mending baskets,
- Textile repair: repairing fabric weavings, carpet repair
- Metal work, repairing jewelry and other metal objects
- Repairing musical instruments and wind chimes
- Electrical wiring
- Stain removal

The SERRV STORE is seeking volunteers to help with stocking, greeting customers, and creating displays. (Winter Store hours are: Tuesday – Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)
