India: Help Women Achieve Their Goals
The basket makers who are part of SHARE, an all-women’s self-help organization in southern India, are proud that they have bettered their lives and those of their children through their own efforts. They built their first building brick by brick, with their own hands and their own savings. Now this group of 400 women is seeking professional assistance to create new basket designs and to find local natural materials they can use in addition to palm leaves.
Plant a Seed to give these confident women a step up with basket design training that will give them work now and for years to come. You will receive a card containing details about the Plant a Seed Project you’ve chosen which you can pass on to a friend or relative.
