Peru: Minka

For 30 years, Minka, which means "working together" in the Quechua language, has been working with rural artisans, most of them women, in all regions of Peru. The 62 community organizations and 9,000 artisans and farmers affiliated with Minka Fair Trade produce traditional herbs, Andean food (quinoa, corn, potatoes), and a full range of traditional Peruvian handcrafts using local materials like organic cotton, organic alpaca wool, ceramics, silver, and stone.
