About Indonesia

Located in southeastern Asia, Indonesia is found between the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. While many are familiar with its lush tropical forest, few understand the effects of major industry on Indonesia's land and people. Artisans and farmers have struggled with inadequate infrastructure, unequal resource distribution, corruption, and illegal logging and mining practices for years. Indonesia also has an especially rich and varied tradition of textile design, including batik printing and weaving.
