In one of the most impoverished areas of Ghana, women weavers are earning a sustainable income as they craft these distinctive elephant grass baskets using traditional techniques, patterns, and colors. Due to handmade nature, size, shape, and color vary. Height listed includes leather handle. Dimensions: 14"h x 13"dia.

Reshaping Your Bolgatanga Basket: Our artisan partners fold this basket in order to ship more efficiently. To remove creases and restore its shape, dampen basket with a spray bottle or other water source, or by submerging in water for 1 minute. Let it rest for 5 minutes to allow grass to absorb the moisture and become pliable. Bend and press the basket into shape - don't worry, it won't break. Allow it to air dry before use and enjoy your beautiful handwoven basket from Ghana!

Reshaping baskets

I love these baskets...have several at home and have given as gifts. But unfortunately I have to agree that reshaping is almost impossible. The fibers are too strong for delicate Am. fingers!

The basket is beautiful, well made, however the way it was shipped is an issue. I have followed the instructions to reshape, but cannot get it right. I purchased this for a wedding present, so will continue to work on it. I would have rather paid more for shipping to have it the correct shape.

This is my favorite. A tight, compact little size, small enough to act as a purse and large enough to hide a housecat. Bright colors- I love the red and purple. Sweet smell and vibrant colors; regained its shape happily when wetted down. The price seemed high until I got it.

I purchased the large basket and love it. The colors are so bright and beautiful. I went on line to learn how to shape it and I am slowly getting there. I don't think I will get it as nice as it could be with a pro, but I love it. The leather handle is beautiful too.

The website images are accurate, but nothing quite like seeing the brilliant colors, unique shapes, exquisite details and quality workmanship in person. Huge WOW factor! Feels like it should be a luxury purchase, but it's actually very practical. This beautiful basket is so very useful. It shipped quickly and was very well packaged. I definitely will be purchasing more baskets. Highly recommended.

The basket is much more sturdy than I envisioned and more beautiful than the photo. It arrived flattened, but it was easy to push it out to full roundness without dampening as the instructions suggested. I'm extremely happy with this product.

Even prettier in person. It is a Christmas gift but I may have to order another for me. I was worried about reshaping since it comes folded but was very easy to do. I ran some water over the sides and inside being careful to avoid the handle. Waited a minute and easily shaped it in less than five minutes. Perfect.

I love your baskets & bought 2 different designs for my new house. My only disappointment in the Delta Market basket is the shape is slightly different with straight sides instead of the tapered look shown in the catalog & on line. The workmanship is beautiful & the colors are just right to brighten up an otherwise dull corner. Thank you for helping the women of Ghana to be productive & successful.

I was very disappointed when the basket arrived and it had leather on the handle! I have been a vegetarian for 43 years and don't wear leather The picture even has the basket without leather on the handle.

Sturdy, well-made basket

Beautifully made...though like other reviewers, I was disappointed that it was "scrunched up" when it arrived. The directions for "unscrunching" it did work though, and I was pleased with the result.

I am so very, very pleased with my purchase.. I am placing mine in my kitchen and using it as a decorative item and will be filling it with silk flowers This makes a colorful statement in any room.
