This colorful and handwoven decorative basket makes an extraordinary impact. Women weavers in the Bolgatanga region of Ghana are earning a sustainable income as they craft these distinctive elephant grass baskets using traditional techniques, patterns, and colors. Due to handmade nature, size, shape, and color may vary. Grass handle. Dimensions: Approx. 17 1/2"h x 12"dia.

Reshaping Your Bolgatanga Basket: Our artisan partners fold this basket in order to ship more efficiently. To remove creases and restore its shape, dampen basket with a spray bottle or other water source, or by submerging in water for 1 minute. Let it rest for 5 minutes to allow grass to absorb the moisture and become pliable. Bend and press the basket into shape--don't worry, it won't break. Allow it to air dry before use and enjoy your beautiful handwoven basket from Ghana!

Baskets are beautiful. They will be very useful for storage. Love the large size. Unfolding is a little more difficult than described in the description.

...not normally, anyway, but this basket deserves a few words. It's absolutely beautiful. The colors are more vibrant than the photo is able to capture. The few wrinkles from shipping disappeared quickly with a few squeezes of my kitchen sprayer. And it's huge! Great for storage or farmers market. It warms my heart to think of of the artisan who fashioned it.

I received these beautiful baskets as a present to myself. They arrived just as beautiful as pictured on the web site. I was thinking they would be useful for holding quilting projects or crochet projects. They are so beautiful, I may, instead, use them for other things as well.

I really use these baskets for so many things. They are great for trips, storing books and toys, packing food and they look amazing in any room. I love the 'swinging" handle because it makes it easier to load the basket with large items and to carry it.
