Such Beautiful Handiwork!

This basket is even more stunning in real life than it is in the catalog or online! But please read the description carefully. Other purchasers did not, and they were disappointed. The baskets come flattened out, to make shipping easier. When you receive them, you have to dampen and reshape them yourself. This is not difficult. But other purchasers gave less than 5 star reviews because they missed this bit of information.

This basket is much bigger than it seemed in the picture. Taller anyway. The colors are vibrant and it is very well made. Of course, the basket arrived folded but reshaping was very easy with the attached instructions. I couldn't be happier.

The basket I received does not look like the one pictured on your website. The shape is different and the design is different. Also, I did not like that it was folded in order to fit in the box and that I have to wet it in order to reshape it.

The Manzini Market basket was beautiful and in pristine condition upon arrival. The box was incredibly sturdy and well sealed. Thank You! :)

This is a sturdy and beautifully made basket. I gave one to a friend for Christmas, and she absolutely loved it. I just bought one for myself.

This is a lovely basket but because of the way it was folded for shipping, it has been very very difficult for me to restore its shape. I feel this is asking too much of the customer and feel that folding it for shipping is not a good idea. Why not use a box to fit the basket???
Owner Response: We are sorry this has been a hassle for you, we try to publicize this information wherever we advertise these baskets but sometimes we miss a place. We recommend that you dampen the basket, reshape, and air dry. The baskets are shipped this way from Ghana, and if we put each basket in a separate box this would significantly increase our costs and our sales would decline, meaning we would no longer be able to support these rural weavers.

My nephew from Wash DC just called to tell me he received this gorgeous basket from Ghana for his birthday... and he was thrilled with it. He unpacked it and their tiger cat immediately jumped into it, hoping it was for him. My nephew is African - American and really appreciates the skills that go into making this basket. His family is happy that they will have it at home. This is a superior basket of beauty. Check out the photo... and then order one for a friend or yourself.
