Statement piece

I've been looking for a tall, artisanal piece for a corner in our stairwell. This is perfect! It has character but is not loud. Its silhouette has a nice balance. It is light weight so I hope it does not tip over... but it's high enough I don't think it will be at risk. I Love it!

I was looking for something that would add interest and some color to our neutral tone living room. I love this Ibis because it's beautifully made, intricately painted and I won't get tired of looking at it! Highly recommend Serrv for unique, fair trade shopping.

This is one of a series of stylized birds that are exquisitely crafted, beautifully painted, and uniquely designed. The originality is something that is to be lauded. The depiction is truly a work of art. I purchased all of the same size statues because they compliment one another. You will not be disappointed.

This is the third one I've purchased. They are absolutely gorgeous, beautifully done. I have one on each side of my fireplace. The third in my den. I LOVE THEM!!!
A delightful bird

My lovely ibis arrived 4 days after I ordered it--wow!--in perfect condition, no cracks or breaks as some buyers have commented. In fact, it was very securely packed, a box nestled within another sturdy corrugated box and surrounded with soft packing material. The color of the bird matched the picture on the web site though it may be just a tad darker than the pic in the paper catalog; I think it depends on how much light falls on it. The contrast of the bird's curving body and straight legs gives the piece a nice rhythm and the colorful batik detailing is very appealing. I'm very pleased with it and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others. Everything I buy on Serrv is always a hit.
Disappointed

I was intending to purchase both of the Batik Birds but was sadly disappointed in the Batik Brown Heron which I ordered. Although it arrived in good condition, the colors, as represented in the catalog and online were considerably more muted on the bird I received. My brown bird is just that, almost totally brown and tan, with some dark green and gold on the feathers, not at all the bright reds/rusts or blues pictured in the photos. I will not order the Batak Teal Egret, based on this, and am sorry because the workmanship is lovely. This bird is much more representational and I wanted the flamboyant artistic colorful look that the photos indicated. I am so saddened with the coloring.

Received the heron in good condition and it looks beautiful. I'm anxious to see how many folks put their raffle tickets into the basket to win this beautiful bird. I purposely got it as a raffle prize for our church's ladies guild fashion show that will be held on April 28. Right now it looks great on my mantel. Whoever the artist is that makes the bird is very talented. It's hard to believe that it is carved out of one piece of wood. Tell him/her they do a wonderful job and that their talent is being enjoyed all over the world!

I sent my brother who lives across the country a "big bird", a beautiful hand painted wooden heron for his back porch. It reminded me of his wine label. Unfortunately, the item came broken in 2 places. I emailed Serrv who immediately apologized and re-sent a 2nd "big bird". So, with the help of some glue, my brother now has a pair. I am more than satisfied with Serrv's customer service policies and will be happy to buy more from them in the future.

The brown heron is lovely. I am giving it as a gift and happy to do so. However, when it arrived the box was broken and the legs of the heron were broken. It was fixable and the recipients will never it was mended. It was not well packaged at all. Just in a cardboard box with some paper stuffed in the bottom. It was free to move around and apparently did. If the packaging were better, I would be very happy. But it makes me wonder about ordering anything else that might be breakable.

I love these birds. I was looking for something tall for two specific spots in a built-in in my living room and these were perfect. There is only one problem with them. They are listed as being the same height. They are not. The Brown Batik Heron is taller and it would not fit in the spot designated for it. So, instead of returning it because I loved it so much, I spend a great deal of time sanding down the base of it so that it would fit. So, if you're considering buying the Brown Batik Heron be cautious of the height.

This heron is expertly carved and beautifully painted. Looks exactly like photo. I also ordered the teal egret and am very happy with both of these purchases.
