Uganda is located in eastern Africa and bordered by South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Tanzania and Kenya. Uganda is well known for its many lakes and rivers; most notably Lake Victoria and the Nile River. The lush landscape provides clean drinking water but also increases the spread of infectious disease. In a small country with the second highest birth rate in the world, Ugandans struggle to provide for their families. Serrv partners with rural artisans to promote the sale of their traditional baskets to allow mothers to afford medical care and education for their children.
NAWOU, The National Association of Women's Organizations in Uganda, is a non-governmental organization representing women's groups in Uganda. The goal of NAWOU is to improve the status and living conditions of women in Uganda and to make women self-reliant.
