This colorful woven basket is double-twisted of locally-sourced elephant grass and brings vital income to an impoverished area of Ghana. Perfect for decor, storage, build your own gift baskets, and more! Due to handmade nature, color, size, and shape vary. Dimensions: 8"h x 11" dia.

Reshaping Your Bolgatanga Basket: Our artisan partners fold this basket in order to ship more efficiently. To remove creases and restore its shape, dampen basket with a spray bottle or other water source, or by submerging in water for 1 minute. Let it rest for 5 minutes to allow grass to absorb the moisture and become pliable. Bend and press the basket into shape - don't worry, it won't break. Allow it to air dry before use and enjoy your beautiful handwoven basket from Ghana!

I am disappointed. The basket I ordered arrived squished in a box. The shape of the basket is now ruined. I have followed the instructions to reshape the basket and it is still not in a nicely round smooth shape. The customer should not have to fix the item they paid for. The colors and design is beautiful but now I have a basket that is odd shaped and I'm not happy.

Well made basket. Not large but perfect for knitting, etc. The green/blue color incorporated into the design matches my living room chairs perfectly. I love this item.

All are well made, some more tightly woven than others. All re shaped well but some required more attention than others. This one required very little shaping. Still have my eye one one more. All are in use while also being decorative. Baskets are well described and very close to those in photos. Large enough for mail and magazines. A bit wider and shallower than photo but more suitable for my usage. Also can accommodate my knitting.

This basket is going to my soon to be 8 year old granddaughter for her Birthday. She is redoing the room in turquoise. It will be perfect. I was glad that instructions and others reviews said to wet. Stuck under shower for a few seconds reshaped it's perfect!

This is a lovely basket. However, it is not round and I'm not sure what to do about it. It is a gift and I really can't give it unless I can get it to the right rounded shape. Help!
Owner Response: We've emailed you with our recommendation on how to reshape it - dampening it in the shower works well! The material is strong and the weave is excellent quality so manipulating the shape while damp will not damage it in any way.

I just love this basket. It was set inside a larger basket so it was perfect when I got it. Did not have to reshape it at all. It was larger then I thought. But, love the colors and the workmanship. Beautiful job the artist did on the basket!
Round Ghana Basket

When I received the basket, it was all bent up and out of shape. I tried everything I knew to get it back in shape. No Luck!! I am really disappointed that it is not usable.

I sent for this basket in turquoise and the colors are beautiful but it is really squashed.I called to return it immediately and the woman I spoke to said to put something in it to straighten it out.For 44 dollars I didn't expect that advice.I guess they are shipped from Ghana crushed. I would not recommend this basket to anyone.
