Fair Trade Egypt (FTE) was established in 2004 to offer income opportunity to disadvantaged Egyptian artisans and to protect Egypt's rich craft heritage. FTE promotes fair trade principles as culturally, socially and environmentally responsible business ideals. They are the first organized fair trade organization in Egypt.
FTE works with 34 artisan groups that include around 2,300 Egyptian craft artisans, primarily women. They provide artisans with product design, literacy training and medical support, capacity building including workshop investments, technical assistance such as computer training, and fair trade advocacy. Serrv began offering products from FTE in 2015.
