About Rwanda
Rwanda is located in central Africa just east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and is also bordered by Tanzania, Burundi, and Uganda. Rwanda has suffered through civil war, ruthless genocide, and extreme corruption. Although they are now experiencing recovery, this has led to political unrest and limited economic opportunity for artisans. Known for its breathtaking scenery and rolling hills, Rwanda is celebrated for traditional crafts including basketry, ceramics, and ironworks.
